Childhood cancer affects over 40,000 kids a year in the United States alone, and it is among the least-funded areas of cancer research.

 

One of these children is my cousin, Landon, who is currently battling leukemia. I've known Landon since the day he was born, and he and his mother, Tracy, are some of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure to meet. They have been dealing with this deadly disease for over a year, but they still care more about others than themselves. Tracy is a single mother studying to be a nurse, and has an amazingly positive attitude which she has passed on to Landon. In a time when they deserve to be a little selfish, they still find ways to take care of those around them. There are ways to donate directly to Tracy and Landon, but in keeping with their spirit, I have chosen to donate the proceeds from Super Sock Monsters to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital so that cures may be found that will benefit everyone who suffers from these diseases.

Cancer is a unique disease in that it takes both a physical and emotional toll on those who suffer from it, regardless of their age. Super Sock Monsters represent hope for those children afflicted, and just want to go some place where they can love and be loved!
